About Us
Built for the Backcountry. Forged for the Long Haul.
At Field & Forge, we believe the wild reveals what gear is really made of — and what we’re made of, too. That’s why we design and build rugged outdoor textiles that can go farther, last longer, and leave a lighter footprint on the planet.
Founded by Nate Whitman, a former gear developer for several leading outdoor brands, Field & Forge was born from a simple frustration: why were durable, sustainable materials so hard to find in the gear we trusted most? So, we set out to do things differently.
Our Mission
To craft high-performance outdoor gear using heritage-grade materials, modern design principles, and sustainable sourcing — built for people who spend more nights outside than in.
What We Make
From waxed canvas utility blankets to recycled ripstop duffels, our products are designed to take a beating and keep going. Each piece is field-tested in the American West and hand-finished in small production runs to maintain quality and accountability.
Sustainably Built. Responsibly Shipped.
We’re committed to minimizing waste throughout our supply chain — including how we ship. That’s why we use compostable mailers, recycled packaging, and partner with fulfillment teams who share our values.
Why “Field & Forge”?
The name represents our process: everything starts in the field — tested under real conditions. What works gets forged into something better. Tougher. Simpler. More honest.
Join Us Outside
We’re not a fashion brand. We’re not interested in trends. We’re here to build gear that earns a place in your Field & Forge pack for the next decade.
